Complaint Review: Star Rebates Inc.

Star Rebates, Inc. Monthly Gift Card Scam Seattle, Washington

I received the Star Rebates Monthly Gift Card for a $500 Fuel certificate when I purchased a specific service. When you examine the details of this program it stipulates that you must designate a specific gas station, purchase $100 of gas each month, submit the receipts to Star Rebates by the 15th day of the following month and you will receive a $20 visa card within 45 days.

I began using this program in April 2010 and when the month of November 2010 hit, the program came to a complete standstill. I continued to send in my monthly receipts but I wasn't receiving the monthly $20 visa card. I sent numerous emails to which there was never a response. Then I called several times and was always told that they were "behind" in reviewing. This went on for months.

When April 2011 came and I still had no rebates back to November I contacted the BBB. They did assist in pushing things and I did end up receiving both November and December rebates. However, as we approach June there has been no activity from Star Rebates on my account since then and I am owed clear back to January 2011 (and I continue to send in the monthly gas receipts). The BBB did indicate that since this company is not registered with them that they really have no recourse. If anyone else has had success with rectifying this issue with Star I would be interested in that information.

E-mail consumer rights advocate Amy Clancy @ KIRO TV she is exposing these people aclancy@kirotv.com They have ripped me off too. She will return your e-mail promptly. It's probably mail fraud. Also you can e-mail the Attorney General a complaint using the following link: www.atg.wa.gov/fileacoplaint.aspx

Good Luck

PS: I e-mailed the AG a few months ago and got my first 3 cards. I had to email them again recently.
