STAR Scholarship Program Stand Tall And Reach Program Rip off scam and treated unfairly. Not helpful for students any students. These people don't care and don't intend to help get you the scholarship you earned. Oakland, California
I had applied for this scholarship program in highschool, called the STAR Scholarship Program. (Stand Tall And Reach). During my sophmore year in high school, 2005, I won the $1,000 scholarship and the follwoing year of 2006, I won $500 scholarship. after I graduated, I followed the instructions to recieve my scholarship money. I even had help from my former school counselor to get me my scholarship money. I Kept calling and calling, and e-mailing on if my scholarship was being transferred to my college that i was going to attend. I never recieved my money and i was never able to pay for college neccessities. Til this day I still have not recieved my scholarship.The last thing I remember was that the woman said that she was going to check and see if it was processed. But I had already sent proof of my scholarahip winning and personal information, and info from my school. They didn't at least call me back or update me on my scholarship money.
i checked the financial aid office in my school as much as possible to check and see if it was sent there. I never got it. I basically applied to a scholarship program that refuses to help me recieve my money and neglects my needs. They claim that they want to help students, but I have not met one student who has recieved their scholarship money from this program. To this day, i am finding away to get the scholarship money I earned and deserve. These people are very unhelpful and could not care less if my money was stolen from someone else. they fail to have appropriate contact information and keep up with updating on where your scholarship is. I hope to take care of this problem very soon. Because of them, I am very doubtful about scholarships claiming to help students for school. I am looking for help and justice. I am so ready to hear what they would have to say if they ever come upon reading my article. I want them to read this because I am extremely upset & tired of waiting and I should have been recieved my scholarship money.
