Dear everyone,
I am writing to agree with the statement about Starbiz Entertainment. I recently went to a audition and it took about 2 minutes. She told me "I think he is what we are looking for." What professional would say things like that too you at a audition for a lot of kids unless they knew something?
They had me call them first at a certain time and she said it was to make sure I was interested still after seeing that it would cost me $685 for a photo shoot. They then called me back at about 7:30 that evening and said he made it. They wanted me to bring him back the next day, pay them and sign some papers. We talked to them on the phone asking lots of questions.
As for this Mark Morgan Photographer Bruce claims he's a fine photograper, He has a website which list $250-$500 for what they wanted $685 for. We questioned them on it and they said they didn't know who we were talking about. And she told me at the audition I could make up to $600-$1500 but she told me that night how they have had kids make up to $10000 as an attempt to make us decide to do that night.
We didn't care what we make. My husband & I just thought it would be neat for him to be in this. I've always heard you should put in a commercial he is so cute. They go defensive because of the questions they said "I wouldn't have you come in in a million years." They did not seem professional at all to me. The place was full of movie posters and they talked about there kids being on the cover of parenting magazine. If so why wasn't that on the walls. So I hope this will make people think twice about Starbiz.

I have made a picket sign for myself that simply states "Shame on Starbiz". I am only making the one, so feel free to make some for yourself. Unfortunately I have limited funds at the moment.
I do, however, have 500 flyers made to hand out. This should supply us for the entire week.
I'm also still working on getting a news crew out for a story.

My wife thinks it is a bad idea as she would be concerned for my safety. I think that if others are willing to picket with me, she would feel better about it. I have posted here and tried to get some more information from Michelle. However, she never responded. I wonder if she even still has the email address she used to post this complaint.
What is your story with Starbiz? I looked through all the reports, but did not see anything from you? In order to help, would you mind posting a report?
I have been assured by the EDitor of this website, that if action is taken, they will contact everyone who has posted a complaint.

I just called the Attorney General's office to follow up on the complaint I filed. The person I spoke with said that my complaint was in the system and was being investigated by the legal staff.
He did indicate that everyone with the same complaint should file a report. I urge everyone to go to the following website and fill out a Consumer Complaint Form:

If the AG's office sees a trend developing, they are more likely to pursue action.

starbiz entertainment had an advertisement on the radio for a clothing line and i called it.
They had my son come down and audition and 1 week later i was told that he was excepted.
I paid the 685 dollars for pictures, access to the web site and a full page ad in az parenting.
now that i read all this i am really stupid and also now that az parenting was sold to some one else.
So i dont see how my son will be in a full page ad in october when the magazine doesnt even exist.
also if he was molding a clothing line then the clothes he wore were old and when you look at all the magazines at least two other babies are wearing the same outfit.
I want my money back and want to join michelle and patrick in the fight for our money for the false information we were given

I have posted my own report about Starbiz (see above). I am trying to gather information from everyone with the same experience, and was hoping you could answer a few questions for me:
1) Did the ad say they were looking for babies for a commercial print ad? If so, was a retailer or clothing brand name mentioned?
2) Did you feel you were going to get paid for the "one guaranteed commercial print appearance"?
3) At any time prior to, or during the signing of the contract, were you ever told that the first "commercial print ad" was for experience only, and that you would not be paid for it?
4) Would you be willing to present these facts in court?
I would appreciate any help you could give. I have made it my mission in life to see that he stops this fraudulent activity.

I too was taken in by Starbiz (see my report on 8/10/04). I am taking steps to see that Bruce Romberg discontinues his dishonest marketing ploys.
First I am going to ask that my child be paid for the "ad" she appeared in in this month's edition of Arizona Parenting. If that fails, then I will take my plight to the media. I am gathering as much information as possible for the fight.
For the rest of you who have felt that you were misled by the advertising and promotional material from Starbiz, I urge you to file your own Ripoff Report. The more we hear from others with the same experience, the better.
