I brought in my diamond and another ring with 12 diamonds to Stardust Jewelers in Framingham, MA last November. I wanted to have a pendant made with the gems for my daughter. They gave me a cost of $700. I realized I couldn't pay all of it right away so I put a d/p and told them I would call when I had the rest of the money. They called me every week asking for the money - they would not start the pendant until it was paid in full. By February, I had paid the full balance and they told me it would take 7-10 days; they emailed my daughter a picture of the pendant but she wanted something different so she sent an email back with what she wanted; we never received any emails, I called them constantly and was told I would get a call back - nothing -

we finally went in 3 weeks ago and was told Rick did not have the time to speak with us so we had to give the design to a woman working there; she told us it would be finished in 7-10 days; we never received any calls again; we tried emailing and calling to no avail; Today, I called and asked to speak to the manager Jim; I was told he couldn't take my call; I said I would wait; when he came on the phone I told him what terrible customer service he had and that he had my $700 and my gems; he stated they were busy and it wasn't made yet; he stated he had sent an email to my daughter with the design which was a lie; he was so rude - I told him I wanted my money back and the gems; he said as long as I had my receipt, he would return my money and gems; I advised him I would be reporting him to the BBB at which he stated he would take legal action - I would never go to Stardust Jewlers again unless you are purchasing very expensive jewlery because they are only interested in money

Claudia did come to Stardust in November of 2008 to have a custom pendant made, but she specified that she wouldn't have the money to pay for it until sometime in the spring of 2009. We gladly held her order and jewelry for her for a few months. We did occasionally call to keep in touch with Claudia, as any store with good customer service would. Eventually, she did come in with her payment to continue with the project, so at that point we started the design process. We told her our custom work was running a few weeks, but would try to push this job through a bit faster since it originated back in November.

After working with our designer on a couple of different options, she and her daughter decided on a beautiful design. After all of this time in waiting for deposits and design confirmation, she told us that she was in a rush. There was no way that this design could be completed by her deadline. We felt bad and offered to continue on the project, otherwise as stated in HER complaint offered a FULL REFUND on her deposit, even though we have much invested in materials and labor.

At this point, Claudia told us that she was (ILLEGALY) recording the call and was going to report us to the attorney general and the BBB. We understand that she is upset and we feel bad that the design couldn't be completed by her deadline.

We've been in business here in Framingham for almost twenty-seven years now, and rarely have complaints.
