Complaint Review: StartLogic Inc.

StartLogic, Inc. Charged me $166.80 on my AMEX card for services I did not order. Phoenix And Burlington, Arizona and Massachusetts

On 12 August 2008 I contacted StartLogic to renew the domain name for my community band's web page. The charge for a 2-year renewal of the domain name was $17.90.

When my American Express bill arrived on 1 September 2008, not only was there the charge for $17.90 but an additional charge for $166.80 also billed on 12 August 2008. Attempts to contact StartLogic by phone have been unsuccessful.

StartLogic was previously the web hosting provider for the band's web site, but they were informed in July 2008 that the band was moving its web hosting to another comapny and would not be renewing the web hosting service.

The charge for $166.80 is apparently for 2 years of web hosting service that StartLogic was specifically informed would not be renewed. Now, I can't get in touch with them to demand a refund of the unapproved charge.

I have talked with American Express and they have told me that they would reverse the charge from my account, but that was a week ago and it is still showing. So now I have to deal with AMEX again as well.

AVOID STARTLOGIC! Once they have your credit card number they will use it for whatever they want to bill you for. A heck of a deal for them in perpetuating their cash flow and ripping off your bank account.
