In January 2007 we received a phone call from a salesperson (we are on the do not call list) from Startup Essentials. He was very convincing that this was a simple business that anyone can do. We are senior citizens and don't know any technical stuff about computers. When we told the salesperson about our lack of knowledge, he said "All you need to know about computers, is how to 'drag and drop' ". That much we do know. We were convinced that this would be a simple business - yes, it would take work. We are willing to do that. We were looking for something we could do from home, so we can retire, since we have no retirement.

We went through "the journey" training on their website up to the setting up of the website section. Setting up a website was all foreign to us and we couldn't understand it at all. When I finally did get to talk to someone live at Startup Storefront, I was made to feel stupid because I couldn't understand it. This is a shortened version of our experience. Now I can only get to an answering service that will submit a contact ticket for us.

So far we have had our attorney write a letter to Startup Essentials asking for them to payoff the lease to A-1 Leasing and to pay us back for what they have already charged. No response from them.

We have written letters to the AG and BBB of both Michigan and Texas; letters to the 3 credit card agencies. We have also written letters to A-1 Leasing and to Startup Essentials trying to get out of this lease.

Startup Essentials answers my contact forms saying we have to deal with A-1 Leasing, and A-1 Leasing says we have to deal with Startup Essentials. Neither will take responsibility.

Now we get an email from the "Lease Breaker" saying that Startup Essentials has been shut down. We submitted a support ticket to Startup Essentials yesterday about this, just today we received a response from Startup Essentials saying that they are very much in business and here to help me.....who do we believe?

We would love to find out how we can verify that Startup Essentials has indeed been shut down and what is our legal right in this crazy situation.

Help !!!!
