Complaint Review: Startup Essentials A1 Leasing

Startup Essentials, A1 Leasing startup essientials what a ripoff with nothing but lies, wasting you thousands Dallas Internet

I have been having the same problems that everyone else is having with Startup essentials, but I only thought it was me I didn't know that there was this many people out there dealing with the same issues.

Let me first start out saying that I was called by startup essentials 8 months ago and they told me with just a few hours a day I would be able to make thousands. So of course I was interested and wanted to know what this was all about. They asked me if I was interested and I said yes so they took me through this two day interview that sounded really professional and I thought they new what they were doing. Then they had me sign a three year lease and more then half of the initials that were on the lease I didn't even sign. I only signed a couple of them electronically and when I got the lease agreement in the mail there were numerous areas with my essentials next to. That's when I first though that this may be a scam and now I know it really is.

This was all about 8 months ago and now I am still trying to get my site up and running. Right before you think your site is done and its ready to go it gets sent to get tested and what do you know nothing but problems exists and the web servers can't read your pages. So then optigroove comes in and tells you they can fix the problem and it will only cost you 1298.00 to start out and 29.00 a month after that and they can get the web servers to read your pages. Then you ask can I do it myself and they say it's going to take you hours a day to even start. So of course you are going to pay someone who supposedly knows what they are doing. It has now been just about 3 months since I started using them and nothing, not one page is getting read by any servers. What a waste of 1298.00 dollars.

My site has had nothing but issues I am dealing with Startup storefront who seems to not know what they are doing. They can't even get transactions to show what customers are ordering and also don't even now how to set up a coupon code. All I hear from them is that its not there fault it's the card services people that I am using, and that's bull these card service people only need to see the finally amount nothing else besides that.

This whole process with startup essentials has been nothing but lies and fraud from the get go and now I am stuck and have lost thousands. Not only do I have a three year lease with startup essentials , but a one year lease when the people who run my credit cards and I am paying monthly on my drop shipper and optigroove. I know there are other people out there feeling the same way that I am because I have read your reports.

Is there any type of action that is going on because I want to help take down start up essentials for all my money wasted and time spent listing to there lies, and if anyone needs my help please let me know?

Jim Douglas is working for A-1 Leasing

Hey Kathy,
After searching through several of these reports I did find Greenspan & Douglas, Inc
listed as A-1 Leasing's Attorneys. Jim Douglas is the contact 1-800-380-4420 x107. I came accross his name in a statememet I believe by Susan Graham who had been offered a settlement on a balance of $8000.00. The offer was 10 cents on the dollar. I actually have a call in to Mr. Douglas to see if this is true! Only because I am still paying monthly.... I have inquired about a Buy Out and they Lori and Steve at A-1 say I owe $2871.00.

Does anyone recall when you signed up with Startup Essentials, that a company was funding your softwared UPFRONT, b/c I DO NOT RECALL THAT!!! I thought it was a pay as you go. That they want you to sign a 4 yr contract, only b/c they were investing in you!!!! And they want to make sure you were very serious about this opportunity. I was under the impression that I was leasing this CHEAP laptop with all the necessary software previously installed to take credit cards on your soon to be website. I do recall her stating that they will start deducting the monthly fee in about 3 weeks to give you some time to get through the Journey. She Rebecca Carr also stated I should try selling a few items on ebay or any other online auction site to just get a little more comfortable with the process as well as writing descriptions of individual items.

Plus, I saved the original e-mail from them. Does anyone out there have a e-mail that indicated that the Ling for the Startup Essentials Lease Aggreement is below.
This e-mail actually came from operations@jamesone.com. Does anyone remember authorizing an A-1 Lease agreement. Is it legal for them to copy and paste your signature all over the SOOooooooo one sided contract. Do you remember initialling all those lines as well. I sure don't.

I'm in the same boat as all of you.

Please ALL sign up for a Yahoo Group
So we can e-mail back and forth!

Collection Agency

#16Consumer Comment

Fri, January 18, 2008

I too was just contacted by a private investigator supposedly checking into my assests for the agency of Greenspan and Douglas. I am to contact Mr. Jim Douglas, was given a file number. I guess the process of collection calls will now begin. Has anyone spoken to this firm? What has been the dialogue and outcome?

Is there anymore information regarding a class action law suit.

I spoke to an attorney regarding this matter and he sees a great deal of fraudulent activity surrounding A-1 and Startup Essentials. I am not will to negotiate a settlement as other posters have indicated. I'm just wondering if someone will comment on their experience who may be further down the line of this collection activity.

Private Investigator

#16Consumer Comment

Wed, December 05, 2007

I just got a call from a private investigator, didn't get his name. He told me he works for an attorney named Jim Douglas in Tucson, AZ and has been hire to investigate my assets and liabilities. When I asked him why I was being investigated, he told me he didn't know why but that I could contact Mr. Douglas and gave me a toll free number. I emailed my attorney and am waiting to hear back as to whether or not I should call this attorney and ask why I'm being investigated.
Since I stopped payment on the account they were taking my money out of, Startup Essentials and A-1 can be the only reason. I seem to remember someone in one of the other complaints saying a lawyer contacted them and screamed at them. Has anyone else been contacted by someone from this attorney's office?
