Startup essentials is definately a major rip off. This Greg Rosars that I spoke with was definately a smooth talker. I have 30 years of banking experience and he talked me into this scam. I received a laptop computer that I did not need, since I already have a laptop and a regular home computer. He never gave me a chance to review anything. He just insisted that I initial all of the lines and sign at the bottom.

I actually have two contracts with them, although I'm sure they destroyed one. Because I told him that I did not want the contract in my name it had to be in my husbands. He said no problem, just initial everthing and we'll have him sign at the end. So, the first one is all typed up in his name with all my signatures. Then the second contract is still written in his name, but they had me initial and sign his name. I can't imagine that that is very legal. I was told that he would contact me the very next week, then again in two weeks, then in a month, 3 months, and then 6 months. Guess what, it has been 3 l/2 weeks and I have yet to hear from the company, other than these dumb inspirational e-mail's.

So, I am not getting very much help there. I have called on several occasions and still no return calls. Tomorrow I am sending the computer back with a letter to cancel me. I have stopped payment on the very first payment I was to make, now I'm just waiting to see what will happen.

it was also insinuated that a large bank was taking a big chance with me on fronting this money. My impression was that it was Chase Bank, it looks like the only thing that goes through Chase is the merchant payment of which startup essentials make their profit off of. Of which I didn't even realize that there would be another monthly fee for the merchant accounts.

Fraud is a crime!!! don't you think we could get them on this?
He told me I would not make any money this first month, but by the second month I should be making money. From the sounds of a lot of these complaints people are barley even started in this amount of time.

Also, I was never told I had to return anything at the end of the 48 months. I thought the computer would be mine.

I don't know if the consumer protection agency can help us, because supposedly we don't have a consumer contract but a lease.

Anybody, finding a way out, other then the 3 day options, of which I didn't even open in that amount of time.
