State Capitol Financial I am a stay at home mom trying who was trying to reduce her debt with this company Hallandale Beach, Florida
I called this company to see if they could help with my debt that I recently aquired; I made it very clear that one of my debts was for braces with Western Dental for my daughter, and that it was only opened two months previous but that I was having trouble paying it. Also that I had another one for about the same amount for an internet business and that between the two this equaled $11,000. They said they could help me and rushed into enrolling me in their program saying that I would be receiving a welcome kit and some letters to sign to my creditors that they would be preparing for me. I sent them all the information they needed about these accounts including opening dates and an application that they had quickly faxed over. A little while later I sent in my first payment to them as promised of $281.91. I then waited and waited and nothing happened...
After a month or so when my two creditors started calling and the one from my daughter's dental office threatened that she could not come in to see the dentist to make her monthly adjustments on her braces, I kept trying to get someone to help me from State Capitol (the person that enrolled me was no longer there) and after talking to a few people, including the supervisor, I was told that this account should never have been enrolled. I told them at this point that I wanted to withdraw from their program as I really needed my daughter to be able to continue seeing her dentist. At this point they agreed but said that I could not get a refund because they had already done so much work for me.
I never received their "welcome" kit or any letters that they prepared and told them that I felt they needed to return my money. The supervisor, Mark Johnson, would not approve my refund and kept saying that he would talk to the boss about it but never followed through with any calls back or emails. I got him on the phone and he again said that they were not in the position to refund any of the money because they did so much work for me. I told them that they had admitted that they made a mistake in enrolling this kind of account and that I had made it clear to the person enrolling me that this was a new account and for braces and had even asked him at the time if she would be able to continue seeing the dentist and he assured me that she could but Mark Johnson kept saying that there was no proof of this.
I then said that I would take half of the blame for this mistake but that I felt they should at least make good on the other half back to me ($140.00). He again said he would talk it over with "his boss" and said that he would email me a response or call me back. He called the next morning but I was not home and my daughter answered the call. He only told her his name and left no message. I called the next day and left a message but received no call back. Then again with no call back.
I feel that this company is a fly by night and takes no real responsibility for its actions and is only out for itself. I am very disappointed and angry that so many companies have become corrupt such as this one and feel that a company like this one will not be around for long.
