State Financial Services Tenant Lease Security This was a message sent to my 80 yr. old mother: "We are pleased to bring this official notice which confirms that you are a second prize winner. Los Angeles, California
My mother received this letter on 12/22 claiming she was the 2nd prize winner under the international sweepstakes held on September 22, 2011. Her name, they claimed, matched the first five lucky numbers ans subsequently won US $450,000.00. She was so happy! With eyebrow raised I asked to see the letter. The letterhead was from State Financial Services, 333 South Hope Street, Los Angeles, CA. The check was written from Morgan Chase Bank; Tenant Lease Security, 277 Park Ave, New York, and the envelope was stamped in Portugal.
This is an outrage especially preying on seniors. If you would like copies of the above material I would be happy to provide this information. I would like to do more about letting senior know and swiftly act when a situation of this nature is exposed.
People are humiliated to find they will not only be a suspect from the bank where they tried to make the transaction; they are victims who will also loose a large amounts of money which will never be returned. And, If they are on fixed incomes thus goes their lives........
How do we help others who will fall prey to this cruel and unhuman greed? How do I help get the word out.

I'm sorry that your mother was disappointed that she didn't win all that money, but this scam has been around a long time and people fall for it all the time. It doesn't seem to sink in that you can't win a prize without entering the contest. Good for you for seeing through this.
