Frank Crawford kept calling like they wanted the job and they could finish quickley little did I know this would be a 9 month ordeal.

On 12-29-05 I signed a contract to replace my storm damaged roof. The job was to start in 4-6 weeks; 9 months later, I have been unable to get clear answers as to when my roof replacement would be completed.

The company did not file for any permits as of April 4, 2006 in violation of Florida State Statue 489.126. State Roofing has been completely unresponsive to my request for information.

State Roofing Inc. has failed to perform the following as per contract:
1. Failed to file for permits in 90 days as required by law FL. ST. 489.126
2. Notice of commencement notarized with a forged signature and the wrong name of my spouse.
3. Failed to remove turbine fans and properly close openings as per contract.
4. Failed to order and install COBRA II , ridge vent as per contract.
5. Failed to provide additional goose neck by antenna as per contract.
6. Failed to install starter strip & shingles to code. 7. Failed to correct code violations. (starter strip & shingles not nailed to code and no step bulling of shingles. Notice of violation was issued 6-10-06.
8. Failed to call for re- inspection within 10 days as required by city.
9. Failed to correct code violations. ( nails exposed and bulled over).
10. Failed to pass in-progress inspection & call for re-inspection as required by city 7-22
11. Failed to respond to city building departments notices to complete job .
12. Permit is now expired 8-9-06 and building department is refering me to unsafe structures board due to the contractor not passing inspection and letting permit laspe. I have called and spoken to several people, each time I get a different story and I am told someone would be out in a few days to address these issues; noone shows corrects the issues nor will anyone return calls.

It's now 8-17-06 and now my Home Owners Assoc. is complaining that the materials sitting on my roof for the last six months are a hazard and if I do not remove then or finish installing the roof they will fine me $125 a day.

I can not beleive 14 squares of singles would be such a problem, this a simple job up & over a gable on a small townhouse.

I am getting ready to sue and have another company do the job, we may have to start from scratch since State Roofings work has not failed inspection repeatedly.

State Roofing, Inc. Update

Well it's now Jan 2007 and State Roofing,Inc. is still at it.
Over a year and our roof is almost done. They removed our turbines and shingled over the 12" holes, the inspector almost fell through. The BBB has been sending the letters, but they still are screwing around.
