I downloaded the trial version of the recovery software for a hard drive I had that was going bad. The software was able to scan the drive and point out the recoverable files. In order to recover the files, I needed to purchase the software. I phoned the company and they said if the software was not able to recover the files from the drive that I would be able to get my money back from the purchase.

After scanning my drive for more than 5 days, the software crashed. I sent the report to their support and they told me the drive was failing and do not attempt to recover any more of the hard drive. I had to send the drive mack to the manufacturer for warranty and since the Stellar support told me that I was not able to recover the drive, I sent it back.

I then reported all thi to their orders department and I got a refual for a refund. This is the criteria:

"We would like to inform you that we can not consider your refund request.

As per our refund policy, a client is entitled for refund if...

- Client is able to see the preview of data with demo version and not able to recover them back with full version and if...

- Our technical support wing opines that no recovery is possible due to any software limitation.

Please get back to us for any further query."

This is from their tech support:

"Thank you for writing to Stellar Data Recovery, we apologize for the
> inconvenience caused.
>
> Please ignore our previous email.
>
> We would like to inform you that as per the details provided by you, the
> hard drive is about to fail and we would strongly suggest you to not to use
> the hard drive with any software as this may lead to permanent data loss."

Since the program crashed AND they were not able to recover the hard drive, I believe their conditions wewre met for a refund. I have been going back and forth with these people for over 2 weeks now and I get the same refusal as stated above. When I call their sales department, I get a sympathetic ear and assurance that someone will resolve the issue. 1 week later, no resolution.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!! They do not honor their product refund policy. RIPOFF!!
