Sterling Auto installed some "New Brakes and rotors" on the front of my car last year. When I went and picked it up he stated there is a one year warranty on parts and labor. When I left his shop and when I pushed on the brakes it felt like they may have been loose in kind of a vibrating manner, they just didn't feel quite right but I had never had new brakes so I passed it off as "breaking them in". then one evening not more than a few months later I was heading down the canyons and it was raining. During my trip down the canyon, when I used my brakes the whole front end would shake when I applied the brakes almost causing me to lose control of the car. Well, knowing that Sterling had warranteed the brake job, I called him the next day and made arrangements to bring the car in knowing there was a warranty on the brakes. I reminded Sterling that he had put brakes and rotors and it was just a few months prior, he acknowledged. When I called to ask if the car was ready he stated it was and said that the rotors were warped and the pads needed to be replaced and also and what the charge would be which was way too high priced. I said to him "You told me there was a warranty on my brakes when you put them on the first time" he said "I can't warranty brakes, I'd go broke". Well after arguing with Sterling over the phone for about 15 minutes he said I couldn't have my car until I pay for the brakes and service, I told him "OK, I'll pay for the brakes, but I'll never bring my car in to you again" Then when I went to pick up the car my mother took me over there and she proceeded to write a check, he also told me he refused to take a check and we needed to go and get cash in order to obtain possesion of my car. The brakes are fine now.

I find it amusing the way you attack numerous people who have filed complaints against you.

Buster,

Unlike you Buster (a.k.a. Robert Youngblood II, "mechanical engineer", second year medical student, paralegal, roofing contractor, tool, etc.), I can read, spell, and write a complete sentence.

According to Lynda's complaint, she states that "not more than a few months later" she experienced brake problems which nearly resulted in a disaster - not to mention the problem she noticed pulling out of your shop. I think it is safe to say that "a few months later" means 3 to 4 months later not a year. I think it is also safe to say that you and your minions did not perform a test drive, again. Where is the professionalism? After reading what you wrote, I will never take my car to "Sterling Automotive" in Sandy, Utah.

I find it amusing the way you attack numerous people who have filed complaints against you. A common theme for you is to criticize a persons size, intelligence, and "english" skills without actually knowing that English is spelled with a capital E.... After reading all of your rebuttals, it is obvious to me that you do not understand the basics when it comes to reading, writing, grammar, or spelling.

I recommend you take a basic English class at a local community college before attempting to criticize another person's English skills. As for the size thing, I will bet there is some kind of compensation issue you are dealing with. As for automotive knowledge, your words speak volumes.

Like another responder to the numerous complaints filed against Robert Youngblood and Sterling Automotive, I recommend that anyone who has had a problem with this ogre file a complaint with the Attorney General (Consumer Protection Agency) of Utah. Also, the Better Business Bureau of Utah is a resource for information regarding "Sterling Automotive" - not to mention the numerous complaints filed against them on this web site.

Disgusted,

Buster

When your mom came in to pay you bill even though you are in your mid 30's if your a day , I told you we don;t have any warranties for a year and it was you warping your rotors anyway. Where is your reciept Lynda ? Don't you know how to read ? The warranty is there in plain english for you and anyone else thats interested! You said you drove to Park city every day and came down parley's canyon everyday.

Gee , do you think that might have something to do with-it!!!!!!! Here is a suggestion , before you come in to any shop screaming and yelling ,making a general nuisance of your self,
read the WARRANTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
