I was unknowingly charged for both hi-index and Poly Carbonate lens. I called my insurance to see why I owed so much money for my glasses. After a thorough discussion and going over the bill, I found out that Sterling Optical charged me for both, Hi-Index and Poly Carbonate lens, it can only be one type. Hi-Index is glass, Polycarbonate is plastic.

The insurance company called the lab and found out the lens were Polycarbonate..the cheaper of the two. So, I was charged $60 for Hi-Index, and $35 for Polycarbonate, which means I was over charged $60.

Almost every time I would call Sterling Optical, I would get the answer, "You will have to call tomorrow when Maggie is in, she is the only person who can make these decisions."

At the moment, the insurance company is taking care of this.

BUYER BEWARE!! Make sure you are getting what you are paying for and are not being ripped off like myself. Don't forget to ask questions.
