Home owners happy with our painting work but insanely fraudulent with not paying for the work. Claims that we didn't clean the spackle dust good enough in their home.

A Mothers Day phone call should have clicked on a red light when the home owner Steve decided that all the spackle work we had done up to that point had ruined evrything in his home, instead of arguing I rather apologized and tried to ease the tention.

As a company we carefully went about our work in a professional manor, cleaning to the homeowners satisfaction every night before we headed out for the night. We covered a great portion of the furniture but when your doing every room in the house the dust is bound to get into places that are unexpected and we do do a thourough cleaning at the end of each job.

But these home owners became very odd and rather scary to communicate with, yelling at us and blaming his wife for not being strong enough to stand up to us while he was at work, he literally verbally abused me for not fully covering the bottom section of a glass case that was only sitting in the center of the room. His wife cried when I told her it wasn't her fault, she just became more scared of her husband as the job went on we wanted to get paid, and she got on the phone with her husband and she was crying again when she got back, picked up a wet rag and started to clean an old hope chest that was obviously dirty from being shipped and regular dust, but kept saying her husband wasn't going to be happy no matter what we did.

We have done the same work now for over 11 years and for the first time, even after having a cleaning company out to clean everything the home owner claimed to be ruined. We have been stiffed pay. A bill has been giving to them by hand and a certified letter head that has gone un-signed.

The cleaning women said the spackle dust they claimed to have ruined everything was more like pollen, regular dust, dog hairs and dirt. But being of hire standards we continued and completely finished the home owners home.

I will give the home owner another week before I go ahead and take them to small claims court. $3851.00 worth of dirty spackle dust in the home.

C & C Painting.....Complete BS

If I would have seen this years ago when this occurred, I would have responded earlier.  This guy is the biggest bozo I have had to deal with in years.  I will be contacting my lawyer to determine if there is a slander or libel action that can be brought against "Francis" the owner.  My guess is he is out of business....
Yes, I hired them to paint our house.  They did not cover anything when they were painting or sanding and kept telling us to not worry about it as they would clean up afterwords.  Any sane person knows you cover things when you paint.  I even offered to buy the tarps and at one point we covered things on our own and were mocked by the big goon.
It went from bad to worse to the point my wife would not even deal with them.  Mind you, the entire time the jerk kept quoting he had a "five star" rating....what that had to to with anything, only his simpleton mind would know.  Finally, they finished and my wife told them to come by that night with the final invoice.  He never showed up......weeks and weeks went by....not a peep.
Am I to be expected to chase after a person to pay a bill they never gave me....especially after the fiasco during the time they were working.
Fast forward 6 months or so and now I have been served papers for the final bill.  Complete lies and BS from beginning to end in his court action.
Now that he is "suing" me, I obtained my own attorney and decided to deduct the broken items caused by C&C....a TV, a bed they tried to move, and other items.  Never once did we avoid paying the bill.....it was never presented as he was a big baby and never came back.  So now we go to court and guess what.....he loses!!!  By lose, I mean he accepted the settlement of the original bill less the costs of the things they broke.  So, in the end, he would up being paid about 1/2 of what he would have been paid had he come back at the end of the job to collect the balance.  For a guy about 6' 4" and 240 lbs, he was a big baby and in way over his head driving to jobs in his Hummer with paint cans in it and complaining about his wife taking his money all day long every day.
I thought this was long behind us but I am certainly not going to let this stay on the internet ad infinitum without response.  Where is C&C Painting of Stratford, NJ today.....more than likely bankrupt because the owner could run a business.
