I signed a contract to purchase a vehicle from Steve Lucas Honda Dealership on 09/2005. At the time of contract the due date clearly states 11/01/2005. Honda Finance began attempting to collect the payment prior to the due date. I paid for a few months assuming that the error was clearical, and we would straiten it out when time allowed. 02/2006 I contacted Honda Finance to fix the issue. They advised that their contract clearly shows 10/20/2006 as the first due date. I asked them to fax me a copy. Upon receipt of the contract it was apparent that the contact is different. I have both the original we signed, and the copy from the finance company. The due dates are different, and both my wife's and my signature were forged. My wife is left handed, so the difference is obvious. Not to mention that our last name is misspelled. I confronted the sales manager Tim Peeler, and was accused of signing a second contract a different way, so that I could make this claim. I requested a meeting with the president, and they completely blew me off. I am not sure who forged our signature there, but it seems sad that they have gotten away with this. Tim Peeler advised me that I could return the vehicle, they would keep my down payment, and I would need to bring a check for 6,500.00. My request was that they take the car back, refund the deposit, and all payments made. They should absorb the negative equity, as they cannot return my trade in. It is my opinion that it would be the least they should do. Dealerships like this should not be able to get away with these practices.
