Steve tire empire They lied about what the $150 tow and $40-45 tire cost will be. And ordered a brand new tire and didn’t get my consent to place the order for a tire that they say cost $140 for 1 tire on a smart car the size needed was 175/55R15. Thats to expensive and I know I can find cheaper. They are unprofessional and not organized and terrible memory of conversation that they have with a individual Jacksonville Florida
on Friday 8-6-21 my back tire came off while I was driving on the highway. I required a tow and tire it could be a used to be exact just to get back on the road again. Because of the area I was disabled in I called within that area seeking help. Most tire shop in that area had no tow truck but could get a tire even if they ordered well I requested same day service and it got late in the day and Steve tire was going to close at 6pm. the young guy said he could help me and gave me the price over the phone and wanted payment over the phone.
no confirmation was given for the payment by young guy he asked me to leave key or bring the key to shop or something because it was needed. Saturday morning I get a call the car is ready but I had already called that morning and no was with professionalism got on the phone I was hung up on and then sent to voicemail. My daughter called from her phone and talk to someone who said the vehicle was picked up and would be ready today.
When I receive the call that it was ready in the afternoon at this time the young guy never said anything about a tire additional charge of $140 because he didn’t have the correct size. Lack of communication on his end he hung up on me and never called me back or the second number I gave them on Friday. Once arrived to pick up vehicle I am told all of this information I said immediately why no phone call was made to me so I can decide what I want to do. No answer was given to me but a apology.
I said keep the tire because I will not give you $140 for 1 tire for this vehicle I can beat this price. It became a ugly situation when this teenager ran his mouth about raising the cost and I will not get this car and he is going to drive around in it I called the police and they never came to the shop. I eventually left with no vehicle or keys I didn’t even see the vehicle. Now they are demanding to put a lien on it because I will not purchase their high cost tire
