Steven Kia Auto Mall ripoff dishonest bad customer service irresponsible Witchita Kansas
I bought a brand new car from steven kia that was a kia spectra gsx with 1000 miles on it about 3 years ago.
My first problem was with the car about a month later, the check engine light came on. I called and made an appointment with them to have the car repaired.
I scheduled the appointment early in the day so that i could also schedule an appointment at the doctors. That way I could take care of 2 birds with one stone since I live 2.5 hrs away.
I clearly explained that to them. They assured me that if they could not get the car out they would give us a loaner to make the appointment.
I arrived at the shop about mid morning, turned in the car, and waited in the waiting room. After several hours I heard nothing about my car. I asked the desk clerk and she went out to check on my car and told me they have not looked at it yet.
Several hours later I asked again about my car and again was told my car had not been looked at yet. So I had them drive me to the doctor. When I got back from the doctor they still had not looked at the car.
Late afternoon approx 6 to 7 o'clock pm, they finally pulled my car in, ran a test, and changed a sensor. This took approx 1 hr. at the most.
Not one month later the check engine light came on. I scheduled another appointment at a different dealer that had us in and out in about 1 hour and also had fixed a hood latch.
Again, the check engine light came on. I finally called the main kia customer complaint center not affiliated with steven kia.
The man I spoke with was very friendly, he got my informationand had told me that the car was registered under another name. He then fixed that and contacted steven kia.
After speaking with steven kia's repair shop they told him that they will call me and schedule an appointment and said if they cannot fix the car that day they will rent a car for me untill mine was fixed.
Several weeks went by and I heard nothing. I called Steven Kia's shop personnaly and he told me he had to speak with his manager because he did not know anything about it.
The guy I spoke with told me they would have to call me back. I asked about the rental car and he told me they would not do that.
Several weeks went by and I heard nothing. I again called the main kia customer complaint number and spoke with the same individual.
He sounded disgusted at steven kia and called them to find out what was going on. They told him that they had scheduled an appointment with me and that I never showed up.
I finally gave up. After speeking with people about this, they had brought up something I never cought on to till it was to late.
When I bought the car it had 1000 miles or so on it, and when I spoke with the main kia company he told me it was registered to another person.
I dont know what our laws are or how exactly car dealing works but that car was sold to me as a brand new car. But in actuality it was already sold to another person.
They took it back for some unknown reason, and steven kia sold it as a brand new, one owner vehicle.
I never persued this anyfurther. I just called it stupid tax, my check engine light is still on, the hood latch still dont work and my warranty is over.
I will never do business with these people again and suggest anyone else thinking about it to think twice.
