Although I was not desperate, I really needed a car. I posted my name on a site that specializes in finding car loans for the consumer no matter how bad your credit-and mine is pretty bad. After several turn-downs,a car company by the the name of STONE MOUNTAIN CHEVROLET called, saying they could get me the loan I needed. The car salesman, dubbed "TIGER", sat me down and explained to me that by the time I walk out of there,I would be in a car.

Before I signed anything, I had them explain every document to me. This was a used car lot, whose cars do not carry warranties and are purchased on an "AS IS" basis. Some of the cars are new; warranties are on these cars or not is undetermined. To make a long story short, After everything was signed, I started asking about purchasing warranties. They said they would work on it.

I was first put in a 2000 Ford Focus. No sooner than I drove it off the lot, it started to sputter and jerk-a piece of junk!! I took it back and chose a 2001 Chevy Prizm. I had the car checked out-everything was fine. Even though it wasn't what I wanted,it was a good car. Again I started asking them about purchasing a warranty for this car-we are working on it they told me.

By now I had the car 12 days. I noticed that my down payment was not taken out of my account. "What are they waiting on?" I asked myself.

After staying on them about a warranty, Car salesman Chris Jackson calls me and says come in and we can get a warranty for you. When I get there, he asks me for the key to the car, to make a duplicate. After he gets the key, he starts talking to another customer. 10 minutes past-I ask him about getting the key back. He takes me outside; tells me we can't let you drive this car off the lot unless we get a bigger down payment or pay more per month for the car. Another reason- my debt situation. I tell him I can't do it. He then walks off and goes back to the customer. With no car, I had to clean out the car and call a friend to pick me up.

This was deception in the highest degree, because usually car dealers will work with you, no matter what your situation is-in this day and time, a turn-down is rare; dealerships are doing bad. How you pay for the car is on you. They just want the sale! I was very upset at how this all went down-I'd been driving the car 12 days before they'd step to me about giving them more money for the car. I thought the car was mine but they had other plans. Even though I got my money back, I will never trust another dealership again.
