Purchased a telephony modem through eBay titled "ARRIS TG852G/TM722g PHONE (EMTA) WIRELESS MODEM(Approved by Comcast/Xfinity)**" in order to avoid the monthly rental fee charged by Comcast when Comcast installs their own equipment.

The photo showed the exact modem used by Comcast.

I received a different modem from the one in the photo (although the model number listed on eBay was correct).  The modem came shoddily packed without power cord, backup battery, or instructions.

When the Comcast technician came to install service, he supplied a power cord.  He spent an hour trying to get it to work, including calling tech support at Comcast.  It did not work.

When I requested a return, the vendor refused.  After a month of e-mailing back and forth I filed a complaint with eBay and gave the vendor an unfavorable review.  The vendor e-mailed me saying that I could keep the modem (which I do not want) and get a refund if I would take back the unfavorable review.  eBay closed the case.  I did not take back the review, the vendor is still selling on eBay, and still listing the fraudulent photo.
