Complaint Review: Storer Mortuary Transport LLC

Storer Mortuary Transport, LLC Michael Anthony Storer Sexual Harrasment, Labor Law Violations, Tax Fraud Jamestown Ohio

Michael Anthony Storer works in the Funeral Business by providing Mortuary Transport Services to Newcomer, Marlin Gary, O R Woodyard, Franklin County Coroners Office, Montgomery County Coroners Office, Nursing Homes, OSU Morgue, Mount Carmel West & East, Doctors West and the list goes on.

He is a married man, but meets at Tee Jays on Stringtown Road every Friday at 8:00 am and sexually harrasses the waitresses as well as his female and even male employees.  He is a disgusting representation of the Funeral Business and it is amazing he is doing as well as he is considering his inappropriate business practices.

Most of his employees do not have drivers licences and have some form of a criminal background.  They violate all kinds of traffic laws, speeding, reckless driving, etc.

Michael Storer also overworks his employees, by having them on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  The only day off one gets is if there happens to be no calls on that day, which is not a day off, if you are still on call.  His vehicles are in terrible condition and reak to high heaven for they have years and years of cadaver residue caked up on the cots and floor boards of the vans.

Michael Storer not only violates the labor laws (which 8 hours of sleep are required by pilots and truck drivers nationwide) He pays his employees under the table and is currently being investigated by the IRS although he is not aware of it.

As of currently, the partners at my firm are formatting and calculating all the data collected during the investigation process and will be filing charges against Michael Storer of Mortuary Transport LLC

#4UPDATE EX-employee responds

Wed, January 22, 2014

My names is Dale Parker. I did not post any complaint on this site about Storer Mortuary Transport. It was posted by another employee who Mike Storer just fired the other day. David Jones is trying to slander my name and I will not have that either. The only thing I feel I did was make Storer a very sucessful business that operated in Columbus Ohio. Since openning on April 15, 2013 we have almost grown over 800 percent. All I ever did was try to work with Mike Storer and do so. We did acheive that. There are going to be charges filed over all of this these petty postings by all parties involved !!

I am here to defend myself and say I am not a liar as David Jones has said that and many more false things about me. Mike and I have not seen eye to eye all of the time but those things will happen. I am glad I did get to be a part of starting this very successful office in Columbus. I would never talk bad about anyone elses company. It has taken a lot of work to build the good reputation  and it should not be tainted by a couple of men who do not know how to be men. I have also formed good business relationships and earned a great respect from the accounts which I have secured for Storer Mortuary Transport.

Thank you for your time.     Dale L. Parker

#4UPDATE Employee ..inside information

My name is David Jones. I work as a removal technician for Michael Storer. The content of Dale Parker's post has no validation whatsoever.

I'll start by correcting some of these accusations:

Our drivers DO in fact have drivers licenses. One employee was hired without one with the understanding that he would retrieve it ASAP. That employee was a liar and a thief, just like you, DALE PARKER! We gave him an exuberant amout of time and oppertunities and he just kept lying and stealing from Storer, even though Storer had worked with him and provided everything he said he would.

We do meet at Tee Jay's once a week, yes. This has been a practice since Storer came to Columbus. Storer buys all of his employees breakfast and then hands us all our PAPER checks. There is no "under the table" payments. Dale knows this because he used to attended these meetings every week and was sent the same tax information as the rest of us.

As for the sexual harrassment of Tee Jay's waitressess or of Storer employees; I can honestly say I have personally noticed nothing. Perhaps Dale is confusing friendship with flirting. Storer is a happliy married man, at least as far as I can tell, and any attempts at disproving this should be considered false themselves.

As for the days off... Well, this is a unique indrustry and we do not get to pick when someone dies. You come into this knowing and understanding that while he'll give you your time off, being called at all random times of the day/night is a requirement of the job. Hince: why it's not for everyone!

Storer also explains, in great detail, that these are very random hours you'll be working. He even sends you to go on a few runs with a trained employee to see if its a right fit for you, before you commit to anything at all. Storer does background checks on all applicants to check for felonies and also checks your driving record too.

I have to ask, Dale. If you find it so bad to work for/with Michael Storer as a removal technichian, than why do still call every few days asking for your job back? "Just a couple eight hour shifts a week man...." your words exactly!

This is a pathetic attempt to soil the good name of a man who has done everything to help you along your journey.

Shame on you Dale Parker for your lies and pathetic attempt at retaliation of a man who gave you everything and considered you a true friend.

#4UPDATE Employee ..inside information

Sun, January 19, 2014

First of all Storer Mortuary Transport is a company that has been around for many years with out incident.  Last year his market was expanded to include the Columbus market.  It was a move that has proven to be a very successful move which has caused other companys to be a bit intimidated.

The comments in this post are mainly fictious and I will try my best to address each one.  Unfortunately when you own a business there is a downside to it as well as an upside.  The down side being that sometimes there has to be a termination of employees and unfortunately it is a former employee who is posting all of the comments trying to ruin Mr. Storer's business.

Most of the places that are listed as clients of SMT are in fact not actual clients and the terminated employee has failed to realize this and is urging them to reconsider their business with SMT.  Again they are not his clients and to attempt to taint a business to them is considered to be slander and libel and make the person liable under Ohio Revised Code 2739.01.

Mr. Storer is a married man and I will say he is a very happy married man to a beautiful woman.  He does meet his employees weekly at Tee Jay's most recently on Stringtown road because it is on the South side of town and he travels 30 minutes there to buy his staff breakfast and give them their weekly pay.  This disgruntled former employee has also failed to realize that there is another location that is commonly used because this person wasn't around long enough to actually go to this other location.  I personally along with others have attended multiple employee breakfasts and never once has their been any unprofessional conduct by Mr. Storer or any of his staff for that matter.  Mr. Storer has never sexually harassed his staff or any hostess worker.  In fact the relationship between him and the restaurant workers is a very good one the staff always seems very relaxed and happy to serve Mr. Storer and his staff.  Again these are false claims by a person who was terminated by Mr. Storer the night before all of these posts have appeared on multiple sites.

In regards to employees with driver's license issues this is a completely false statement.  In fact most of Mr. Storer's employees have exceptionally clean driving records.  There was one individual who unfortunately didn't and appropiate accomodations were made to ensure that the individual did not at any time drive any of the company's vehicals, in fact he was driven to all removals he did for the company by a licensed individual who was professional at all times.  As for "criminal" records as this allegation proclams, Mr. Storer tries really hard to ensure that no known felons are employed by him and when and does find things out he immediately addresses them like he did with the ex-employee who submitted this complaint.  He was made aware of illegal activity so there was an immediate termination.  In fact the person who submitted this complaint is a former gang member so I really can't understand how someone who works for a company for 3 weeks or so is so perfect and acts as though they have full knowledge of a business that has been around for years.

In regards to work practices, Mr. Storer's employees are paid by salary at an agreed amount, they sign a contract in advance and have full knowledge of their scheduled hours.  They are "on call" only to answer their phone and do a removal when needed.  They may get 0-1 call per 12 hour shift or they may get 5 as there is no controll over death.  Many who work in the funeral industry work 6-7 days a week, they are on call 24/7 and because they are salaried they aren't regulated under the federal labor law which the terminated individual fails to realize.  Mr. Storer's employers aren't behind the wheel for 8-12 hours at a time.  They are at ball games, restaurants, their home, malls, sleeping in their own bed etc.  They may only actually work 1 hour per shift.  If any employee is called upon for a run on their off time which they do not have to do, they like others in the funeral industry are comped very well for their usually 1 hour of service.  So this issue would be moot as well.

Mr. Storer's vans are in very good shape, but from time to time require maintenance like all vehicles.  When one has exceeded it's life it is replaced with a newer model.  The vans are clean at all times, so I don't understand where this filth complaint comes in.  Mr. Storer's employees in the Columbus market have the vans at their residence and are given instructions to keep the vehicles clean at all times.  Common sense should tell them if in the event that leaking of a deceased individual occurs it needs to be cleaned up.  They are responsible for informing Mr. Storer and he takes appropiate measures to resolve the issue.  There isn't years of build up on anything, unless from time to time the removal tech fails to clean up after a spill so to speak.  Mr. Storer takes a lot of pride in the appearance of not only his vehicles but his employees as well.

In the last paragraph it is disturbing that this person is saying his firm.  I can tell you for a fact that "this person" is in fact not a real firm.  This terminated employee has been impersonating a legitimate business which we have contacted.  That business owner under his own admission knows nothing of any of this other than their name is being used along with photos stolen off of their personal facebook account.  The real private investigator has submitted formal complaints to the Columbus Police Department as well as the Ohio Department of Public Safety because the person doing this is not legally allowed to impersonate a private investigator and is planning full prosecution of the individual who is attemping to ruin Storer Mortuary Transport's business.  There is no ongoing investigation into anything just a terminated employee who has sent threats to Mr. Storer and even is harassing Mr. Storer's other employee and their friends in an attempts to cause them harm, but there is a current ongoing investigation in to him impresonating a private investigator.
