I purchased an unlocked phone to get my old phone number ported to, and it hasn't happened. I paid about $300 for the phone because my old one was old. My new phone required a SIM card so i purchased one from Straight Talk. Upon receipt, i went throught he process to port my number. It didn't work. I called Straigh Talk and we were on the phone an hour! They tried a bunch of different things including having me reset the new phone, and my old phone to factory defaults. When all else failed; they told me that there was a tower outage in the area, and that i should call back in 24hrs. They are open late, so i was able to reach them the next evening even though i work 8am to 8pm. When i got ahold of them again we went through another hour of trials, and i was told about an outage again. I remained calm, and called again the next night. After going through some trials, they decided to send me a new SIM card. It arrived in a couple days and i called them again. Again, they tried for an hour to activate it, and again, after being unsuccessful, told me of a tower outage. It's been a week now, and i told the guy that it was too long to go without a phone. I also told him that i would call the BBB, or Ripoff Report, and the call was disconnected. Over the week I've talked to many different people at Straigt Talk, and they always call back if the call is lost. This last time i recieved no call back, and i still have no service. They have said that i can bring any phone, and they would issue service. They are not holding up their end of the bargain
