Swift tranportation is by far one of the worst companies to work for, dont consider working for this company. They just want their revolving door. Trainee, Mentor.. If you are not one of these then your better off working in a 3rd world country for nothing, because nothing is what you'll get.. The equipment is always breaking down, they tell you that you get break down pay and will be reinburst for motel bills, but in the end you get nothing, maybe a; "Im not sure why" from your driver manager.
They rip drivers off with the mileage that they pay you for. IE Pre Plan states 200 and actual is always alot more! ALOT MORE! Now thats if you can get a pre plan, without a "freight is slow comment". The Qualacomm miles well be a smoke signal, if "you need something", such as I need fuel or an answer to a payroll question, or why Im I being routed on this road? Wieght restrictions or no trucks allowed, and the driver is responsible for the ticket and yet the company directions tell you to go this way, and if you dont, you get in trouble for being out of route!
There are more issues than I have time for right now, but take my word for it, if your considering this company as your next employer then STOP! You'll be alot better off..

I just wish I was a DOT officer, those mechanics are Class #1 goof-ups at best,
lazy good for nothing idiots at worst and they waste drivers' time (owners or company drivers) doing nothing to the truck and handing back the keys days later saying it's fixed. They don't want to say they will not invest in fixing your truck because then they have to switch you to a newer truck. (which "they don't have", lies I see them in the yard)
They eat the cake and want to keep it too, they quickly report your slightest log violation, but would like you very much if you violate the law to complete that dumbass trip everyone else refused and was J.I.T. yesterday.
Disorganization and mayhem, to say the least along with expectations of you spending your money on anything from loadlocks (which many times are left in sealed vans on T-Call), to scale tickets and others, upfront before they reimburse you (usually).
The Office will be M.I.A. when you need them most and Phoenix is the largest terminal,
can't imagine what goes on at the others. They waste driver time because it is free and yet expect you to arrive on time and pickup on time.
Then there was the crackdown on used opt idle fuel (which is an operating expense period) for company drivers. The crying and wailing over how poor Jerry Moyes has become after buying back his company. (which he lost by ripping off the employees on owned stocks Enron style)
They would rather hire non-english speaking drivers to abuse without their ability to even speak back, much less complain of wrong doing. (and they are promoting that)
Those who think the import of Mexican companies was not generated by corporations like: Swift, Werner, Schneider, J.B. Hunt; are fast asleep dreaming.
Those of you who think blocking this motion has stopped the slipping of your jobs south of the border are dreaming too, the border has moved up a few hundred miles.
All companies are hiring more and more Non English speaking employees who are absolutely refusing to integrate, racist, impolite, uncivilized, ignorant and willing to accept any offers. (not that American truckers don't fit some of those descriptions but these are a lot worse)

First Daniel, I can tell you have not been in the industry very long. Very few companies actually pay hub miles. If you are caught on a restricted road/ route, it is your fault. Trip planning would reveal problems which YOU could have avoided. Not every company is for everyone. Trucking is not for everyone. I have worked for Swift for quite awhile.....no company is perfect for anyone.....but you go ahead over to Nigeria and work...as for me....Swift has been great.
