I sent Stratford Career Institute $5.00, after being made false promises. I wrote them a letter, as soon as I received this legal notice that they sent. It said things like that there is no way to get back the $500.00 tuition that I was about ready to start making payments on, that is, if it was after 12 midnight, exactly 30 days after my materials arrived. It seemed really strange, because there were about 20 different legal stipulations that you had to agree to in order for them to begin the program (or so I thought).

I thought it sounded pretty shady, so I decided not to sign the legal agreement. I then proceeded to write them a letter, stating that I wanted to cancle the program, and I wanted my $5.00 deposit back. A few days later, they sent me my learning materials. I promptly sent them back. A week or so later, they sent me a bill, saying that I owed them the $500.00 for the course that I didn't even agree to, or keep the materials for.

My mother wrote them a letter (she can't keep to her own affairs), telling them that if they didn't return my money, that we would take legal action, and that I was only 17 (I was at the time.) Since then, we haven't heard from them, and I also still haven't received a refund for the money that they lied to get. It has been about 4 or 5 months since our last corrispondance.
