A career change recently provided me with the opportunity to learn new languages on an ongoing basis. I saw the advertisement for Pimsleur and then reviewed their web site. The testamonials and methods seemed compelling, and I felt that the Pimsleur Approach would provide me with a meaningful jump start in my academic pursuits. The price seemed too good to be true. Well, it was.

At the time I ordered the CD lessons for the first two languages we were not living at home due to renovations. The initial CDs were delivered and I put them to immediate use. They were pretty good. Don’t really meet my need, but they were helpful in terms of listening to new languages and further familiarizing myself with vocabulary, word order, etc. The tapes I ordered were worth the money.

The CDs I did not order, those that were delivered without a signature receipt to the home we were temporarily occupying, I cannot speak to. Internet Order, LLC insists that while I did not expressly or intentionally authorize the purchase of the materials delivered to an address I no longer occupied, I am somehow at fault. I have called the vendor upon numerous occasions in order to attempt to resolve this matter, but am consistently subjected to utterly unhelpful and occasionally hostile CSRs.

Ironically, we changed banks shortly after my having made the initial purchase, and in spite of their efforts Internet Order, LLC was unable to successfully charge me for the unauthorized expenses. A demand for payment in the amount of $512.00 sits on my desk.

Based upon the additional accounts found on this site, I will take the time to file a complaint with the State of Florida Attorney General and Federal Trade Commission.
