Complaint Review: Student Educational Registries

This "company" offered my child the chance to be included in Who's Who Among America's Middle School Students (or something to that effect). They required that you send a brief description about the student and a photo if desired. We did this and subsequently responded to the offer to purchase some mementos of what was supposed to be a distinguishing achievement. Well, it eventually became clear that they had absolutely no intention of ever sending the items promised and paid for .... to the tune of $89.00.

Every time I called to check on the shipment, I was given a new shipment date. My emails went unanswered as have all of my phone calls. Needless to say, it was quite easy to reach them at the solicitation stage; but once they had cashed the check and were just making excuses it became harder and harder and ultimately impossible to not just get an answer from them, but to even speak to someone in their office. I only had the option to leave a voice mail message. In my opinion, this is about as low as someone can be ...... I happen to be the sole source of support for my children and myself. To have experienced this truly disgusts me. I struggle to be able to pay for private school; and I responded initially thinking of it as acknowledgment of my son's ability and as encouragement for further achievements. Now my child and I find out it was just someone with apparently no conscience and an incredible lust for money. I hope this person and anyone involved in this end up in jail!!
