Student Loan Association Promises help, delivers nothing Livermore California
In March of this year I was contacted by Student Loan Association, (SLA), offering to assist me with my huge loan from a Master's degree I had just completed. Since I had been out on disability for a few months, with no certain return date, I listened to their speech, and agreed to allow them to help. For $39 a month, SLA promised to assist me with getting my loans down to a very manageable amount- in fact- they stated they could wipe out about 90% of my loan and would work directly with my University. I asked a lot of questions, and after I thought it over, fell into their fraudulent trap. In July I received a call from my school stating that I was in arrears in the amount of $2000 plus. Needless to say, I was not happy. My school was able to work with me while I figured out exactly what had happened. When I finally spoke with a Supervisor, I was told that it was my fault- I never sent my Disability papers, and on and on. Well, now I have a stop payment on SLA taking money from my account, because even after they sent me the "appropriate" papers- my school still rejected me. DO NOT engage with this company- they will not help you, they will only take your money. They even state on their webpage that they are a "DOCUMENT PREPARATION" company. Yep, that's about it. Please, avoid them at any cost.
