Style Snaps instant hemming for pants, Style Snaps advertised on TV and internet Connecticut, Internet
Style Snaps, advertised on TV and at their web site, sells a cheap little stick-on/ snap device that can help you avoid sewing a hem in pants, a quick fix.
You're lured in by a display ad showing the cost is "$10 plus $7.99 P&H" --- but when the credit card order goes through you are charged $15.98 for "shipping."
I contacted customer service and received a note back saying only, "read the fine print."
I wrote back immediately to cancel the order, but have not received a response. Needless to say, I will be paying close attention to my credit card activity.

The fact that the shipping charge was exactly double shines some light on the issue. Typically the pitch goes something like this : We'll double your order for free, you just pay additional shipping and handling. This company does offer 16 gadgets for $10 + $7.99 shipping. They also offer to double the order for "free" if you pay an additional $7.99 S&H charge. So, if you ordered the extra 16 "free" ones, they doubled the shipping and handling charge, as promised.
