Their upfront pricing appears more than reasonable. And on top of that, they offer free shipping! What could go wrong?
Throughout the ordering process they offer all sorts of extra cost options, including a check register for $2.50, something that most check printers include automatically. That wouldn't be a problem except that they automatically add some of those options to your order meaning you have to UNSELECT those options to keep your bill from swelling. And if you manage to negotiate the entire process, revealing all of your personal information including address and checking account number? On the last screen when you can finally "Submit Order Now" you are hit with a previously undisclosed mandatory handling charge. For each box. In my case it turned out to increase the cost of the order by a whopping 64%.
This is dishonest. They intentionally conceal this charge throughout the process. What good is "free shipping" if they are going to turn around and add a "handling charge" at the last minute? On each and every box, even the "free" ones. I will be shopping for checks elsewhere. Even if they are more expensive in the end, I value honesty which this company is not.
One other thing. Their pricing is per box. Except they don't tell you anywher how many checks are in each box.
