I was first contacted by subscriber services claiming that they were part of a credit card company and that my name was entered into a 25,000 sweepstakes. Wrong they are just a magazine subscriber charging consumers too much money for magazines. You could get them a lot cheaper rate from the magazine subscriber directly. I.E. Maxim, Sports Illustrated etc. I thought there was really a sweepstakes so I fell into their plan now years later no sweeptakes and I'm stuck with countless issues of unread magazines. Don't fall for this scam.

They even violate state law

I was a victim like others. I tried to cancel on the same day and was not allowed. By Colorado State Law they have to advise you that a sale can be cancelled, and that you have 3 business days to cancel.

I know they do not do that, then refuse to cancel, even on the same day.

I used to work for this company and let me tell you that, yes, it is a rip-off. But it is not a scam. There is a sweepstakes. They are not lying about that. But thousands of people are entered into this sweepstakes so your chances of winning of very slim. The point is to get you to buy magazines. The prices are ridiculous, I'll admit. But they call you back to verify your order. They record you agreeing to the terms and conditions of the LEGAL contract. If you don't say "yes" to everything during that recording, then you are obligated to NOTHING. My point here is, learn your lesson. PAY ATTENTION to what people are saying to you, especially when your credit card number is involved. Subscriber's definitely takes advantage of people, but it is your fault for agreeing to something you didn't want. You made your bed. Now lay in it. Pay if off (I know they will settle it if you push it hard enough) and don't ever make that mistake again. This rebuttal really applies to almost every complaint about subscribers on this site.

I will say this too, I LOVED working there. It was so much fun. Money sucks but the people were great. And please remember that when they call you. They are just people. They know they are ripping off. They are just doing their job. So be nice to them. It's not their fault. I had to include that because I used to get so abused by customers and I was genuinely on their side. That being said, I would never have agreed to that kind of garbage.

PEACE!!!
