On 7/6/2012 I went to my Dr. because I felt sick, I found out I had a sinus infection. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea several years ago and was using a CPAP machine. I told the Dr. I was feeling fatigue. Since I had been working as a professional truck driver with a Commercial Class B licence, he suspended my licence to treat my fatigue. I was on disability, and in August I received a new breathing machine called a VPAP. It began working well and the Dr. released me to full duty on 9/12/2012. Unfortunately the Ca. DMV does not work quickly, and my company that i had worked for since 5/1986 told me they would wait until 10/1/2012 for DMV to release my licence. They did not release my licence until 11/26/2012, and my company terminated me 10/2012 due to failure to maintain my CDL. I do not believe this was my fault, and I realise it has been 1.5 years since, but I always have wondered if this was legal since I believe sleep apnea is a disability.
