today ( 7/26/12)  we visited Dorney Park with a Group of Children, ages 5 to 14, the 14 year old in our Group decided he wanted a Subway Steak and Cheese Sandwich for Lunch, he went inside the Store alone and unfortunately I did not find out till we where on our way home that he paid $ 14 for a Sandwich ????? Can I have an explanation of that, I'm hoping that was just a mistake on your part.

THIS IS THE RESPONSE I RECEIVED TODAY 7/27/12 FROM MICHAEL FEHNEL, DIRECTOR OF REVENUE OPERATIONS AT DORNEY PARK, ALLENTOWN PA

Dear M..... C.....,

Thank you for contacting Subway regarding your recent visit. A steak and cheese foot-long sub is $12.99 plus $0.78 in sales tax would bring the total to $13.77. Pricing in a venue such as an amusement park is typically higher than comparable street locations. Our pricing is similar to venues such as baseball games or movie theaters. The Subway is forced to have prices similar to the other food locations in the park as we try to keep similar meals priced consistently, For example, a 6 sub with chips and a soda will be comparable to a cheeseburger with fries and a soda.

Thank you again, for taking the time to provide your feedback.

There are several valid reasons that park food is expensive. 1st is that to put a Subway in a park means not only do you pay rent you pay a sizeable portion off the top to the park

2nd, last I checked this is a free country and they can charge what they want, and that brings us back to this is a park and they all charge outragious prices for food. Try feeding a family at Disney some day.
