Not once, not twice BUT 3 times Melanie Lowry had cats run away from her kitten mill

7/7/07 Our sources found that Ms Lowry listed a "LOST CAT" in the NCTimes.com 7/7/07 then took the ad right out, for fear someone would find it. The chocolate male cat's named is Yum Chocolate he ran away. This is the [2nd] time Melanie Lowry of Lollimops cattery had a male stud run away, that we are aware of.

The [1st] time we are aware of was named Lollimops Asti' Spumante a lilac point that was used for stud and locked in a cage 24-7. He ran away from Melanie Lowry's care back in approx around 2002.

On certain website Ms Lowry had posted that he was stolen, he was not stolen! Both male studs ran away from Melanie Lowry's care.

This will certainly increase the feral cat poplulation now since both the males were stud cats and were not neutered. So these 2 cats that ran away will now mingle in the with alley cats of our communities and create many thousands of litters only to have to be killed in animal shelters. How sad!

Here is the listing in the NCTimes.com "LOST CAT Persian. Male. Solid chocolate. Show quality. Named "Chocolate" flat face. North end of Escondido. Please call 760-737-7411"

[#3rd] time 6/12/2008 Animal Control paid a visit to Melanie Lowry's cattery, prompted by 2 past buyers dis-satisfaction of getting a sick kittens. Animal Control came by Ms Lowry's delapadated shack, as Melanie so eloquently called it, as she gave directions to a buyer to come to her home.

Animal control viewed 11 cages outside on the run down property, with 11 cats outside. All with feces in litter, hardly any water and little food with a big tarp ontop of the 11 cages.

The next day when the Animal Control came by to finish up their welfare check one of the officiers asked Ms Lowry where were those 11 cats that were outside under the tarp are? Ms Lowry said,"someone let them out and they all ran away". I am sure if CFA ever heard that statement Ms Lowry would be under an investigation. Because having all those cats loose in the neighborhood could create such an over population in the feline world it would cause a terrific hardship on the Escondido Animal Shelter to deal with so many females having babies.

But what really happened to those 11 cats is Ms Lowry hide them at her friends home until after the welfare check was done. She intensionally had the animal control come back the next day because Ms. Lowry is so use to be so crooked she cant really help herself at all.

In the excate location Ms Lowry lives in she is only allowed to have 6 cats total. It must be a total of 6 cats period, no "ifs" "ands" or "buts" about it. The county in which she lives does not give cattery licenses or business licenses whatsoever.
Because Melanie Lowry can NOT get a business license or cattery permit this:
#1 does not protect the buyer/s
#2 does not demand breeder be liable if kitten is sick or dies
#3 does not make breeder accountable to USDA for cattery regulations by law. This is a lose, lose situation for any buyer who wants to purchase from this cattery.
