We were contacted by RMG, who is doing marketing for Summer Bay Resorts, to attend an update and get our new photo ID's for Summer Bay.  The company representative presented us with a program that would allow us to purchase additonal services with Summer Bay.

During the presentation, the RMG representative told us that if we purchased this program, we would get memberships in several time share exchange companies as well as Disney and access to reduced rates for cruises.  All of this would be provided for an upgrade fee and a yearly fee.  In additon, we would become part of teh Summer Bay Marketplace, which would allow us to purchase addtional vacations at a reduced price.  They were offering this package at a very reduced rate prior to July 1st.  All of which seemed very good. Until we got home and read the paperwork in depth.

When we did so, nowhere were any of the exchange comapnies we were shown mentioned, except RCI.  In additon, our level in the marketplace had been misrepresented.  After further review and discussion, we returned the contracts for a refund.  According to the documentation, this was to take place within 15 business days after receipt of the return.

One problem is that the clock doesn't start to run when you get your packaget back to Summer Bay as they only get their contracts from RMG once a week.  In our case, it was over 20 days till we got any kind of help.  Phone calls were not returned and we had to constantly keep calling.

When we finally got someone, our funds were refunded within 3 business days, the only postive ibn the experince.  However, $75.00 was witheld for marketing materials, which we returned and told by customer service that we would not be charged for if we did so.  This sisue is ongoing and we have ended up filing a credit card dispute as again, no returned calls.

So buyer beware.  This is, I beleive, a VACATION CLUB, that is being offered to get you to upgrade your timeshare property.  If you already have the Summer Bay Vacation Club, it's about teh same thing, so don't waste yout time or money
