Complaint Review: Summer Bay Resort

Summer Bay Resort Misleading, Rude representative who hang up on you, refuse to cancel without providing their reasons, scam consumers, pushy sales tactic, did not deliver what they promised you, deceptive, manipulative, terms and conditions does not reflect the actual deal, hidden charges, sales presentation was longer than the terms & conditions set forth (wasted of a vacation time) Florida

There are just too many victims out there who kept quiet about the problem. It will not take too much of your time to file a formal complaint to the BBB (address above) so that our voice can be heard. If not, this big corporation will continue on to scam other innocent victims. I am too being mislead into buying a vacation package. They hide all sorts of information that if anyone who had common sense would refuse to purchase the package. I for once, also do read the terms and conditions - unfortunately their terms and conditions are also misleading (which makes me think that is illegal). I am hoping to bring this to the attention of the Florida Law.

Summer Bays common tactics are:
Get the supervisor to give you a discount to persuade you to buy.

Offer you a discount.

Claim that you won a vacation but when you called in, you end up paying for it.

They will conveniently leave out important details that are critical for your purchase decision: such as the requirement for a 90 min presentation (which will drag to half a day of your vacation), extra charges that you are required to pay, transportation charge will be $100 for a 15 min ride from airport to the resort (this you are forced to take unless you complain then they'll let you take your own transportation), there is a booking fee which is NOT mention during a conversation OR the written terms and conditions.

I was told that I did not sign up for a resort - then what am I signed up for? a motel when I was shown a resort picture when I first bought the package?

You will never get the resort you wish to stay in.

Sales reps will constantly ask you to hang on to speak to a supervisor if you have a concern or complaint, the wait will last at least 30 mins to an hour (until you decide to hang up).

Sales rep will hang up on you if you complain. Trust me I have been hung up at least 3 times and from other complaint reports, I know I am not the only one who got treated that way.

There are just too many more to tell you about. But please help others from being a victim by reporting their business practice to the BBB (see link above) and the Florida State Law. I read the Law and noticed that Summer Bay's many tactics was actually illegal. I am hoping that together we can raise our voice on this matter. Thank you for all those who care.
