Complaint Review: Summer Bay Resort

Summer Bay Resort,Summer Bay Partnership I was "awarded" a travel package for $249 with 5 trips. I was to be 23 years old and gainfully employed. I told them that I am not employed and that the agreement was invalid. They still took my $249. and did not refund me as promised. Clermont Florida

I received an e-mail stating that I received a "travel package". I had taken one of these before, and other than looking at the resort for a time share, they were not too bad. But this one was very hard-sell and told me I didn't have to be married as long as I was over 23. They finally finnagled me into an agreement of 7 trips for $249.00.

But then they did the final "taped call" verifying all of the information and when they came to are you "gainfully employed", I said NO. They told me that it wouldn't matter. I argued that it would matter to the resorts when they found out that I couldn't qualify for the package. I told tham at that point that I did not want this thing as I did not want to get to FL or NC and be told that I had to PAY for everything as I do NOT work.

The manager, Mark Mader, went on and on saying that he would mail me a corrected agreement and would eliminate a trip to Costa Rica and refund me the $99. I did not get any mail from him several days later, so I called and told aCSR that I wanted the package cancelled and my $249 back. She told me that she would have Mark call me. I am still waiting for the call. And when I call, he is never available.

I reported this to my bank as an illegal transaction and I am disputing this through my bank. I WANT MY $249.00 back!!
