I signed up for DishTV in November, and part of my "free gift" was to be redirected to this company for a discounted vacation. The lady I spoke to said I would be getting a vacation worth several thousand dollars for only $200 because it was part of a promotional offer.

At first I was reluctant, but she was very nice and assured me there were no strings attached. So I gave her my CC # and she charged $200. She then said they'd send me out my vacation package info within a week.

About three weeks go by and I never receive it. So I call back and they give me a website I can log into to see my "package". I do so, and notice in the "fine print" that in order to get my vacation, I need to attend a sales seminar. I was not told about this when sold the package, so I called back to cancel.

The person I talked to said I was over my 7 day cancel limit. I explained to her I wanted to cancel because I had been mislead, and they never sent me out the paperwork. If they had sent me out the paperwork I would have cancelled earlier. She said there was nothing she could do. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she hung up on me.

I called back, got someone else. I told her I had just been hung up on, and asked for her name. She, too, hung up on me.

I called back, got someone else. I explained what happened, how I was hung up on twice, and she apologized. She said she'd transfer me to her supervisor to please hold. She then hung up on me.

I called back, got someone else. I explained the situation yet again, how I was mislead, and hung up on a bunch of times. She apologized but said she couldn't give me a refund. I told her I had been mislead on the phone when sold the package. she then called me a liar, and said they record all their phone conversations to prove it. I asked for a copy of the recording and then she got nice again, and offered to give me a partial refund. I took it, as it was that or nothing, but I'm still out the rest of the money. And I'm certainly not going to fly to Florida (I live in CA) to spend a vacation in some fleabag motel so they can cram me into some stuffy room and have con artists try to hard sell me vacation property or whatever the hell is it they are scamming.

I have since filed a complaint with the BBB (and noiced they have dozens of other complaints.) This company will give you a "free gift" all right, but they'll need you to bend over in order to give it to you. If you see this company coming, run away--far far away.
