Summerwinds Resort Services LLC Predatory sales practices on senior citizens Branson Missouri
My mother was contacted by a representative of the SummerWinds sales office (out of Branson, MO) on October 30, 2008 concerning a vacation at the Stormy Point Village, after filling out a form for a chance to win a free trip. The sales representative repeatedly told her that she had won a mini vacation certificate allowing me to travel to Branson Missouri, and that it would cost only $139.00 for a 3 day 2 night stay. Feeling pressured she gave the representative of SummerWinds her credit card number, and was charged $139.00 on October 31, 2008 (based on her credit card statement).
After thinking about the pressured sales pitch a couple days later, she decided she did not want the vacation and called around November 4, 2008 to get a refund. She was told that she needed to speak with a Lucinda Waters in the reservation department in order to get the refund.
She wrote a letter requesting a refund and sent that to Lucinda Waters on November 5, 2008. She then called on January 3, 2009 and spoke with a Julie, who told her Lucinda Waters was not in. She called again on January 8, 2009 and spoke with a Joanne who also told her Lucinda Waters was not available to speak with her. She wrote another letter to Lucinda Waters requesting a refund, and sent it on January 14, 2009. She has not heard back from anyone at the SummerWinds office.
