We were suckered in to attending a "presentation" by Sun Country Travel in Carrollton, Texas. The people were very nice of course and explained how their travel company works and how you can book vacations through them for MUCH cheaper than going through a regular travel agent or directly through an airline.

We all sat in a room and listened to the rather convincing presentation. Once is was over, about ten salespeople literally swarmed the room. That's when the high pressure sales job began.

We were interested in getting rid of a timeshare that we rarely used since having kids, and didn't want to get into something similar. Well, con-artists know how to twist things around to make you see how lucky you would be if you bought their services. And embarrassingly enough, we fell for it. They used the line, "We can sell your time-share in two months." But of course the catch was, we had to join their travel club. Here it is almost a year later and NOTHING!!

Not only that, but they are flat out LIARS. We had a salesperson at our table, who then brought over the "owner" of the company who's name is Brian McDonald. Oh yes, he was charming and friendly and acted like he was our best friend.

I asked him to his face how their rating with the Better Business Bureau was and he said "Excellent"! There were only a few minor complaints that had been worked out and the customers were satisfied. Lesson learned - don't be so dang gullible!!

A couple days later I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau's website and was shocked, yet not really surprised to see that they had a very unsatisfactory rating and a big "beware" was issued to stay away from this company. Brian McDonald LIED to my face. Don't let him do it to you too!

I do have to say that we have used one of the "free" vacations offered and had a really good time. We went to Dominican Republic and it was very enjoyable. But I honestly believe that with the money we paid out to join this stupid club, we could've gone on several trips to other places for the same price and not felt like fools AND we still have the time-share we wanted to get rid of. I don't feel like we got any deals with them.

Brian McDonald is impossible to reach. We have left MANY messages for him and he never returns phone calls. If Sun Country Travel calls you up and offers you a free dinner to your favorite restaurant in exchange for listening to their presentation, hang up the phone immediately! The money you spend at a restaurant will be a lot less than if you get ripped off by Sun Country!

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, its paid for!
