The lastest correspondence on this problem was sent to David Hatley, Principal of Sun Enterprises/Absolute Tan on September 18th. I have not received anything back from him.

I am writing concerning a pool I purchased online from Absolute Tan. My contact person until this time has been Carolyn.

The Better Business Bureau website has David Hatley listed as the Principal of Sun Enterprises, but when I search for Absolute Tan it comes up along with Sun Enterprises.

I have continuously been lied to by Carolyn about the shipping of the pool, the parts, and now a check that I should have received the first week of September.

Here is a list of what has transpired:

I was told when the pool was shipped that all pieces were in stock and everything would arrive in one package.

When the pool arrived (8/25/06) it was missing the liner and the skimmer. After continuing to call Carolyn she finally told me that the liner and skimmer were being shipped from a different location because they were out of stock and I should receive them any day.

On August 30th, after still not receiving either missing piece I called again and Carolyn told me that the liner had just been ordered that day, that it had been on back-order. I called around in San Antonio to find out how much a liner was ($100) and called Carolyn back. I asked her if I could purchase the liner and she could take it off of my contract OR reimburse me. She said she would reimburse me, as soon as I faxed a copy of the invoice that I had purchased the liner. She said that the check would go out the DAY AFTER the invoice was received. I faxed the invoice on August 31st.

I left for vacation on September 7th and expected the check to be there while I was away. My daughter called on the 9th and told me nothing had come in the mail. I called Carolyn that same day and asked what had happened. She said that she would check on Monday, so I called on Wednesday, the 13th because the check had still not arrived. She told me that the check had to go to the Accountant and that at the latest it was mailed on Tuesday the 12th. As of today the 21st of September I have yet to receive a check. I emailed Carolyn on September 18th to let her know that I was waiting until Wednesday, September 21st for the check, and if it didn't come I would contact the Attorney General. Her email back said she was sorry that the check had to go to the accountant and if I didn't get it by Wednesday that they would stop payment on it and reissue it. In the meantime I called the finance company that financed the loan (Nationwide Acceptance) and told them what this company was doing. They said they would also try to contact the company. I received another email from Carolyn on 9/19 that said you will get your check this week. That is all the email said.

A $100 check should not cause so much grief. I just want to be told the truth, and Carolyn apparently is not capable of doing that.

I noticed that more than one person has been ripped off by these company's. To them I suggest filing with the following agencies:

Attorney General's Office in Tennessee, Attorney General's Office in your home state. Federal Trade Commission, and here!!

I was informed by email today that Sun Enterprises mailed a check to the company that I purchased the pool from. I went by the company and picked up my check. So they finally did mail it after weeks of me calling and nagging them, but sent it to the wrong place.
