Complaint Review: Sunburst Properties (David Mumma)

BEWARE OF THIS REALTOR (MAUI, HAWAII)

David and Gloria Mumma are absolute and total scam artists. They advertise on Craigslist. I had paid $75 application fee (made out to Sunburst Properties) which is more than the usual $25-30 application fee by most companies. He was quick to approve my application and wanted the full one months deposit sent express or within 2 days before he'd even send me the rental agreement to his personal account in his name. When I asked for the rental agreement upfront, he said it was too much hard work and that his policy is to get the deposit first. He was supposed to negotiate on my potential move-in date after speaking with his wife. This never happened. He then re-listed the apartment hours later and at a cheaper price. RED FLAGS. AVOID.
