I leased a Jeep from this dealer in September. Part of the deal was that they would take my old mercedes and bring it back to the dealership. All they had to do was drive the car to another dealer. My salesman quit or was fired one week after I leased my car, and I received a text from a new sales person letting me know she would be taking over and if theres anything I need, I can let her know.

Not once did she tell me I needed to come pick up my car and bring it to the old dealer. They took my plates off, had me sign an odometer statement, and took my car keys. I received a letter from Mercedes saying I am in collections because my car was never returned.

So I called Jeep and asked them where my car was. Wayne Schmidt Jr. (owners son) had the nerve to tell me the car has been sitting on his lot for 4 months and it was my responsibility to know that and go get it because they would have never promised me that.

Now I owe Mercedes a ton of money, my credit score is shot and he is making me come back to return the car myself with his service manager and asked me to then drop the service manager back at the dealership when I'm done. This dealer is full of thieves. I would never trust them again.

The sale was made just fine, but once they had the sale they couldn't care less about the customer. I will never return here to buy a car. This is the worst car dealer experience I've had to deal with yet.

- That isn't exactly true. As a week after the sale the "new" salesperson sent you a text asking if there was anything else you needed to just text them.   You gave no indication you ever contacted them regarding any issues.

Did you have anything in writing from the dealer stating that they would return your previous lease? You have a car that is worth 10's of thousands of dollars that YOU are legally responsible for until it is turned in. Yet even after they open the door to you, it doesn't appear that you followed up to verify if they did return it.

But there are other odd things. Why in that 4 month period did you not get contacted by Mercedes at all? As again this is a car that is worth 10's of thousands of dollars that you were supposed to return. So why did you not get contacted by Mercedes about your delinquency after 30 days, 60 days,  90 days? Why was the first notification a letter 4 months after the fact? Perhaps you did and ignored them?  In talking about your credit this seems like something you should be contacting Mercedes about.

I'm not saying that the dealer is right in just leaving the car there as they also should have contacted you to let you know it is still there. Which is very odd as by that time they likely could have legally considered it an "abandoned" vehicle.  But it may not have been intentional either.

You got into a CAR FLEASE. In a FLEASE, somebody gets SHEARED and it won't be the dealer! Wait until they get the car and they hit you with the BOGUS, EXAGGERATED "excess wear and tear" charges! I guess you didn't see the $750+ BOGUS FEE they hit you with this new FLEASE? You didn't BUT anything! It's a CAR FLEASE!
