PLEASE READ:

I hope to save atleast one person from getting involved with these morons!!  There is just so much to say I'll do my best to cover it all, I know exactly what the other people that have posted on this site about this marina are talking about and know it all to be absolutely true and with that said please heed my words # 1 do not eat at the restaurant it was infested with grease, dirt, mice dropping, and it was absolutely sickening, it was absolutely unbelievable and as a former employee I saw this first hand.  I dont know how they passed the health inspections I can only assume the cop "Joe" used his influence.

If you need work done on the boat your parts are coming from 1.  craigslist  2.  boats that were abandoned on land  3.   ebay  rarely will the big parts come new,  in my humble opinion they can't afford it.  I know this because my paycheck on several occasions couldn't get cashed at the bank along with other employees who actually incurred overdraft fees as a result,  during winter they couldn't afford to keep their heat on and we had to work in a cold building, this past Xmas they were kind enough to reward me with a great bonus for a job well done, that great bonus was 2 $1 scratch off cards(both were losers).

They advertise as a yamaha service, infact they have banners on their bath house and fuel docks, maybe they just like yamaha i dont know but I do know no one is certified yamaha so dont come in for a twenty or fourty hour srevice it will void your warranty, if you have merc or honda no one is certified there either, so that will void your warranty as well???  They have no supply shop and I remember asking Junior for two cans of PB nut buster that I needed to work on an engine and his reply was something like "why do u need 2 cans, you only need one??".

They are way out of there league when it comes to prices,  look for yourself and see what they charge for a supposed "FUEL SERVICE" on their spring make ready which consists of a fuel filter change and emptying a bottle of enzyme treatment for well over 200 bucks.  They hired unqualified children in the fall and tasked them with winterizing 50000 dollar boats and ofcourse these boats had all sorts of issues come spring time.  Unfortunately for me these kids both quit before spring could come and the amount of pissed off customers was overwhelming for these idiots, so to quiet the uprising they blamed the one guy who gave a d**n, me and right than I became their scapegoat.

They didn't take into account that the previous 2 winters there were no issues with boats at all, but someone had to be the scapeboat and they enjoyed taking my well earned vacation days, than my salary away which wasn't much to begin with since i was working six days a week with the promise of comp time in the summer"that never happened", knowing I had a family they even took a dollar off my hourly rate, not to be out done they than took my position away and gave it to a mechanic they thought was their savior, shortly after the savior came aboard I was fired with out warning and told to pack up and leave before I had a chance to even finish my eight hours, after 2 and a half years.

When this happened  I filed for unemployment but I believe the Mitchells didn't want their rates to go up, as apparently they couldn't even keep up with the overwhelming bills they already had, fuel bills, heating oil, electric, cable shut off notices, marine fuel companys blowing up the fax machines, debt companies wiping out their accounts.  Junior made up a great story and told unemployment that I falsified company records (with no proof, or paperwork what so ever to back it up) but at the end of the day good conquers evil, their savior saw what a joke they are and quit just a few days after  I left, offers came to me from several top notch marinas and I settled down with a very established, reputable company that treats employees and customers with the greatest respect, and an owner who fully supports her staff.

Now a days I no longer have to hear them saying hurry up, were not making money, we need billables only  five minutes into starting a job, and thankfully  SUN HARBOR BAY CLUB now looks like a ghost town with no boats on land, tumble weed rolling across the boat yard and many of their current slip holders following me to my new place of employment and driving their boats by trailer to my drive way for repairs.  This is all true in my humble opinion, the customers are great but that is the only good I can say about this place, hope I helped making your decision easier. The only reason I had to post this was because I have a good clean record, I'm drug and alcohol free, I served my country proudly, I have plenty of integrity, and I'm sure as hell not going to let these scumbags drag my name through the mud without having my say.

Thanks and have a great day
