I had a car accident in and my car was no longer drivable. Before making any phone calls, I was approached by a tow truck company. The man was wearing a full AAA uniform and asked for my AAA card. He said he worked for AAA and since I was a member, he would tow me for free to an AAA/Honda authorized dealership.

They towed me to Sunset Auto Crafters (SAC). I called AAA directly and asked them to send me a tow truck to take me to another body shop. In the time that I was waiting, the auto body shop convinced me to stay so I cancelled the AAA tow. The real AAA tow company that was supposed to come take me away from the scammers at SAC called to warn me that the tow truck that took me to this auto body shop was not a real AAA tow truck. I called AAA directly and they confirmed that no tow had been provided to me and billed to AAA. I confronted the manager Eddie about it and he denied any knowledge. I stupidly left my car there. I then went home to read the Yelp reviews which were awful, scary and clearly outlined the fraud that this Auto Body shop is committing. In the end, I arranged for another auto body shop to come pick up my car from SAC. When the new company came, SAC charged them $680 to release my car (which had been there less than 24 hours and had no work done to it) $350 of which was a tow charge. Thus, they are admitting that the tow truck that brought me there was affiliated with SAC and not with AAA. I want to start a class action lawsuit but need more people and a lawyer.  They are clearly scamming tons of people -- just look at the yelp report.  I filed a complaint with the BBB, my insurance company as well as the Attorney General Fraud Department of California.

Looks like lots of others too. I got the tow stuck driver that said he was from Lexus and took my car off an AAAtruck because I believed them. I was so distraught I unfortunately did not get the tow truck name. One month still don't have my car back.
