My wife and I went to Cancun in the late 1990's, wound up at the Suset Lagoon through one of the street vendors, yeah I know what your thinking, anyhow it was a long drawn out process, toured the two resorts, set through a long sales promotion, lots of loud music, clapping, so on and so fourth.  We wound up buying the studio package, opened up the RCI account for exchanges. It was difficult to get Sunset to deposit time with RCI, you would have to call out to Mexico, then you were trying to deal with someone who spoke broken english, but we were able to get it done for the first three or four years, then they quit, call and called them, went back to Cancun went by there offices, we were assured that our time would be deposited, by this time they were behind a couple of years or so, we continued to pay yearly upkeep fees, still no timeshare deposits with RCI, and all the while we were still having to pay membership fees with RCI.  They had a hurricane come through Cancun, they sent us a bill for an extra upkeep fee for that, so we finally just quit paying there fees, they continued to send yearly bills through the mail, and through our e-mail, I always sent them back stating that if they would deposit our time I would gladly pay them, never a response.  Told the wife I guess we were out of our money, like most everyone else we had paid in full with a credit card, so all of that was lost, plus the upkeep fees were lost, money paid to RCI was lost, thought that was the end of until a couple of weeks ago when a collection agency started calling.........LOL.  Filed complaint with the BBB, found this web site, which has several complaints in it, found other sites with the same, even found a web site called sunsetscam.com, so I guess the moral of the story is BUYER BEWARE.

It is always best to hire someone skilled to do so, unfortunately in most cases these companies dedicated to cancel timeshares usually cheat for the second time to their customers since they are vulnerable and desperate. If you are thinking of hiring them you just have to make sure you do not have to make any payment upfront. Ok here's the update as of today (5/13/10), Sunset has been in touch with me since filing this report, I talked to a guy named Cesear with the Sunset group, we went over the account, and he made me a decent proposal.  Anywho I will let you know how it works out, should know something for sure in a few days.  If it works out as it should I will post this guys number and maybe he can help some of you also.  Thanks

the only reasons this company is still in business is , because of there  LIES

a bought 6 years , they turned me over to collections , never got my weeks , and payed alot of money

i had a list( contacts also of about 1,000 people that had also beened SCAMMED by them

they take your money  , and do not give it back , and they open new companies in florida,  to take the place of RCI  , so you can  not get yours weeks

they are rich because of us all, the people , that have treatened , and tried to ruin  our credit   THE PLACE IS NOT EVEN THAT GREAT

 

IF YOU  ARE STUPID , LIKE THE REST OF US  GO AHEAD AND BUY FROM THIS COMPANY !!!!!!!!!!!!!
