Attended a meeting as required by a vacation package, enticed to buy a $3,250.00 vacation package valid for 2 years with supposedly free incentives to buy such as free hotel accomodations, cruise, etc. Corporate personnel from Ocean Spa Hotel part of Sunset Group/Sunset Royal ask me and my friend credit card for identification, however, they already swiped it and charged us for the said amount. On the same day, we told them we are no longer interested in the vacation package. We were told we cannot get our money back since we cannot back out from the transaction and if we terminate the membership, they will forfeit all the money. My friend dispute her credit card and the transaction reversed in her favor which I just knew 2 days ago after 2 months. My credit card turned me down so I went ahead and told Julie Cardenas from Cancun that I just want to use the hotel accomodations as stated in the contract since I paid my part in full $1,625.00. She said ok and we were exchanging emails since March 2014. Found out that PURAVIDA internet website is non-existing and unable to access so I can browse for hotel accomodations. Now she's saying she forfeited my money because of so many alibi's. They just want to keep my hard earned money just like that. If this can happen to me, it can happen to anybody. Don't let this people get away with it..

I went through a horrible experience with this resort, and I'm out of three thousand dollars right now BUT I'm in a process to cancel my timeshare.

Desperate to recoup some money to pay for bills, they can easily become victims to scams artists pretending to be their timeshare salvation who will take upfront fees -as much as five number figures in some cases- but fail to fulfill their promise.
