i was a tenet at Woodchase apartments for over a year. To start with i gave them a check for $7.50 before I moved in, which I was told had been returned by my bank( my bank could not confirm this). According to Sunshine they wiped out all the special offers they had on the place when I said I would rather not take the apartment they told me that i would have to pay at least 3 months rent anyway or they would take me to court. So under duress i took the apartment.

About a year later I lost my job and was unable to pay the rent on time. Normally the rent was due on the 1st of the month. I went to their office and explained the situation and asked for some time to pay the rent. I was told they would look into it and get back to me. On the 21st of the month the Sheriff knocked on my door at 6am and handed me a court order asking me to vacate the property within 7 days. I vacated the property within that time. i then received a court order for payments of upwards of $5700. These included various damages to the properties and the carpet specifically. I was also charged 2 months rent for vacating without proper notice!!

I went to court where I met Sunshine's lawyers, the biggest crooks of Memphis by the name of Baer & Company who masquerade as lawyers but in reality are an incredibly arrogant, dishonest bunch of thugs. Mr. Baer said he was willing to make a deal with me out of court, I agreed, he offered if i pay $800-$1000 for the first payment he would reduce the amount to $3000 and I could pay $100 per month after that. I asked him to put everything in writing so we would both have a copy of the agreement. he said he would do that. i did not hear from them for almost a year and then they garnished all the money in my account allegedly after having notified me at the address they had kicked me out of in the first place.
