My wife answered a call from these people after several attempts to get us to subscribe to their magazines. They would not take no for an answer. The last time they called, they claimed to be with a legit subscriber service we had subscriptions through, and said that their data base had a problem with current subscibers being re-entered, and that they were calling to offer an apology and give us a discount on our current subscription.

They had all of the information, and sounded legit, but we were still sceptical. They said we needed to give our credit card number again to allow them to process our discount (big mistake!!). They assured us that it was not for a new subscription, and only to provide a discounted rate. They even recoreded the responses, but apparently not their initial conversation. So we come to receive an invoice from them for the monthly chanrge and full contract fee. This came in 10 days after the call, and you only have seven days from the date of contract according to the terms to cancel.

My wife called, them to cancel, and explain the problem we had with their practices. She was told she could not cancel after the 7 day period. I called, went through the whole speel again, they would try to see what they could do. After a couple more calles, they said that they had cancelled our subscriptions.

Meanwhile, I filed a complaint with the MN Better Business Bureau.

A month later, we noted another monthly charge on our card after being told we had been cancelled. I've called them back and have yet to get a response.
