11-25-2004: Arrived at the Motel 2:30am Thursday Morning for Thanx Giving that evenings with old friends from college. I paid for three nights in advance $107.73 as was the demand from the indiand person who is running the place.

I told him am a smoker, so he told me we have available smoking rooms. Gave me the key for room 254. In the Middle of the night I wake up not able to breath, when turned the light there were bugs and flees everywhere.

When I showed the indian manager "Nick" the condition of the room and my allergies acting up. He indicated thathe allows dogs and cats in the Motel rooms, the he moved me to a different room 253.

Same thing. The Carpets were disgusting and stains all over the place, looked like dogs and cats were urinating on the carpets, and flees, bugs and crabs were on the sheets of the bed and Blanket.

Finally, I asked him that I would like to leave this dump hall, and asked for refund, he refused, eventhough he saw my allergis acting up and the the bugs and insicts in his rooms, thr bites on my chest and whole body.

I caled Customer service at 800-454-3509. They told me I have to work it out with the manager of the Motel. The same person who was jerking me around and refused to give me my money back. I also called their Presedential line at 1-800-889-9702, who also indicated there is nothing they can do; since they are individualy owned.
I advice everyone to stay out of all Super 8 Motels until they clean their act. They are Filthy, Filthy, and Disgusting.

I've stayed at a bunch of $35/night places too

That was more than 20 years ago, but I stayed at some. This is 2005. If you stay anywhere that charges less than $70/night, bring your own sheets and some pest strips.

Not every $35 a night hotel is crap

As for the comment about $35 a night hotels being crap, that is BS. I'd agree if it were in a very popular area (say, Colonial Williamsburg) that it MIGHT be a crap hotel, but I've spent many nights in very reasonably priced hotels and they were not crap.

I'm sorry the OP had a bad experience but do not blame ALL Super 8s.

BTW, if you had bites all over, and you said you inspected the place, why didn't you see it was bug filled during your inspection?

What were you expecting?, a JW Marriot Five Star Resort?

You stayed at an establishment that was priced at about $35.00 a night. The accommodations were aligned to that price. I don't doubt that the conditions you describe existed, but what was your expectation for $35? Habitable? I suggest that if 35 bucks a night is your budget, and these type of accomodations aren't up to your high standards, stay home El Cheapo.

Did you expect that Nick was going to host a champagne brunch complete with ice sculptures and a harpist?

BTW- You have a really stupid name.

All over your whole body??

How could you have bites all over your "whole body" if you simply looked at the room and then decided not to stay there? This makes no sense. You would have had to spend quite a while in that room, including getting into the "crab" and "bug" filled bed, with no clothes on might I add, in order to get bites all over your body. Therefore, methinks that your request for a full cancellation is unreasonable, as the evidence is against you at this point. (Unless of course the bites were not caused by crabs present in the room, but by crabs already living on your body that you brought into the establishment.)

It's not ALL Super 8's

Though I can understand your frustration with this particular Super 8 and the "Indian". Please know that it isn't all Super 8's. I own one in Wisconsin that has been named the Super 8 of the year...out of ALL the Super 8's in the country.

In the future, take a look in the Super 8 International directory and pick out the "Pride of Super 8" designated properties. These properties have consistently done well on thier property inspections.

Thanks

PS, I'm Indian, and have a very clean property.
