With gas prices going up, my household decided to purchase a couple of scooters from Gary at the Super Scooter Store. Unfortunatly, it was a fast decision without much research. We decided on two Vento Triton R4 scooters. Gary claimed since we buying two that he would make us a deal. He assured us the MSRP of the scooters was $2595, and told us he would take $2000 a piece for them. Sounded like a good deal from us. Upon looking at the Vento website a couple of days later, the Vento website clearly stated that the MSRP was $2595 for the scooter. I called Gary, and asked him why he misrepresented the price.

He gave me a story about how the internet price was misleading, even though it came from Vento's web site. He said that we would be assured excellent service and warranty, and that was part of the price. I called Vento, and asked them about MSRP. They told me that the warranty was included in the price of $1595. We asked Gary for a refund of the difference, in which he hung up on us.

Our next dealings with Gary was warranty work. When the lighting of the instrument panel and the speedometer went out, I called Gary. At first he said he would order the part and service it as a warranty. After a couple of weeks went by, he still hadn't called us back about the part. I called him, and he had his sales rep call us. The sales rep told us they would send the parts to Gary. A month passed, and there was still no resolve on the parts. We reported Gary to the Better Business Bureau without any luck. To this date, Gary promised us good service with the extra we paid for the scooters, and he has failed to service our scooters that were under warranty.

Be very careful. Make sure you research the prices. He will misrepresent the manufactuers MSRP, and then when you need service, he will promise the world, and deliver not one once of service.

Superscooterstore.com is a website only store that drop ships. You pay return shipping even if merchandise is defective.

I bought a defective X-treme Alpine Trails Electric Mountain Bicycle from their website. I was referred to the supplier who gave me several options. Get a volt meter to diagnose the problem, install a new controller when it was likely a bad battery which costs almost as much as I paid for the bike, or pay to have it shipped back for them to repar it and return it to me, no longer a new bike but a refurbished bike when in fact I paid for a new one. Since I did not want a refurbished bike I returned it and am hoping for a refund. Adding insult to injury superscooterstore.com offered me a shipping label at their "discounted rate" of $130. I paid FedX $62 including shipping instead. Avoid them like the plague.

Clarification on the name of the store Super Scooter Store

Hi there, I wanted to clarify that the Super Scooter Store mentioned here is NOT associated with my online store www.superscooterstore.com.  We are an entirely DIFFERENT company.  The Super Scooter Store mentioned here is a brick and mortar store located in Springfield, Missouri, we are an online-only retail store located in New York City.  It is just unfortunate that we share the same name.  I wanted to make sure that all customers going to our store www.superscooterstore.com are not confused by this report, because we have NO association with the company in this ripoff report.  Thank you very much.
